Hastelloy X Is a High-Temperature Alloy First
HASTELLOY® X is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy developed around a combination of oxidation resistance, fabricability and high-temperature strength. Unlike C-276 and C-22, which are primarily discussed as aqueous-corrosion alloys, X belongs in hot-section conversations: 爐組件, 石化爐硬體, gas-turbine-related structures and other parts exposed to elevated temperature and thermal cycling.
That difference matters in manufacturing. A Hastelloy X part is often thin, formed, welded or geometrically complex. The machining plan must therefore consider not only size and finish but also distortion after material removal, weld sequence, heat-affected geometry and how final interfaces are restored after fabrication.

Machining Challenges in Hastelloy X
Hastelloy X retains strength at elevated cutting temperatures and generates high tool loads. Work hardening can punish a light or interrupted finishing strategy, while thin-wall hot-section parts can move as stock is removed. We prioritize rigid engagement, stable toolpaths and route sequencing rather than chasing dimensions at the end.

For complex assemblies, we can plan the route around fabrication first and machine final interfaces afterward, rather than treating each process as an isolated purchase.
Typical Hastelloy X Components
Examples include combustor and burner hardware, furnace fixtures and supports, hot-gas brackets, 戒指, 墊片, seal hardware, ducts, 法蘭, instrumentation supports, petrochemical furnace components and other thermally loaded structures. High-value RFQs often combine contoured surfaces, thin sections, bolt patterns, welded joints and tight final interface tolerances.

Hastelloy X vs Corrosion-Resistant C-Alloys
Do not select X simply because the Hastelloy name is familiar. X is optimized around elevated-temperature strength, oxidation resistance and fabrication. C-276 and C-22 are more strongly associated with aggressive aqueous corrosion. If the design challenge is a hot oxidizing gas stream, X may make sense; if the primary challenge is severe liquid chemical corrosion, the C-type alloys may be more relevant. The service environment and applicable code should control the decision.
Quality for Hot-Section Components
We support heat/lot traceability, 捷運, CoC and dimensional inspection. 三坐標測量機, optical methods and surface roughness verification can be applied according to drawing requirements. For welded or failure-critical parts, optional penetrant, ultrasonic or radiographic testing can be coordinated as required by the process and specification.

What is Hastelloy X used for?

Is Hastelloy X the same type of material as C-276?
不. Both are nickel alloys, but X is primarily a high-temperature Ni-Cr-Fe-Mo alloy, while C-276 is primarily selected for severe aqueous chemical corrosion resistance.
