The “Spring Alloy” of Superalloys

Inconel X-750 (UNS N07750) is a nickel-chromium superalloy strengthened by precipitation hardening (gamma-prime formation). It combines the corrosion resistance of the 600-series with exceptional creep-rupture strength and relaxation resistance.

Where stainless steels lose load and conventional superalloys slowly “creep,” X-750 is engineered to hold force. That is why it is the industry standard for springs, fasteners, seals, and nuclear internals up to 1300°F (704°C).

We manage the heat-treat, phase precipitation, distortion, and dimensional stability that determine if a spring actually performs.

FAQ: Inconel X-750 Expert Q&A

When should I choose X-750 over Inconel 718?

Choose X-750 when your part must maintain force or preload at temperature (springs, bolts, seals). 718 is better for pure tensile strength without long-term relaxation concerns.

Can you machine X-750 after it is fully aged?

Yes, but it is abrasive and tool-intensive. We typically rough-machine before aging and finish-machine or grind after aging to ensure dimensional accuracy.

Do you support small-batch prototype springs?

Yes. We support single-piece R&D springs through full aerospace and nuclear production programs.

Can you provide spring load and hardness data?

Yes. We provide load-deflection, hardness, and heat-treat validation as part of the quality package.
